Anyone and everyone is welcome to join UoB Polo and Polocrosse Club, whether you have been riding your whole life or have never sat on a horse. We organise tasters in the first few weeks of first term- these are not trials! These are a great opportunity for you to give polo a try. If you want to join the Club in a training team to compete, casual trials are carried out later in the term to allocate our training team slots.
WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?
We train at Rugby Polo Club which is approximately 50 minutes from the University Campus. We car share to our training ground and organise all lifts on our Facebook group. You need not worry about this, as our secretaries will sort this out in advance.
HOW OFTEN CAN I PLAY?
We usually train on Wednesdays, but don't worry if you have other commitments, other days and lesson times can be arranged to suit the needs of all our players! You can train and play as much or as little as you like.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
Playing polo and/or polocrosse at University level is an enjoyable and affordable way to play polo, while being part of a great team. As well as training and competing together in Beginner and Novice teams we have lots of great socials that anyone can attend, whether you become a regular player or an occasional one! There is also the opportunity to be able to watch some higher level matches which are always exciting to see.
